JExcel provides an effective way to integrate Microsoft Excel workbooks and spreadsheets into Java Swing-based applications.
With JExcel, you can work with Excel files, workbooks, worksheets, ranges and cells in a variety of ways,
entirely in the Java language using a comprehensive API. No specific knowledge of COM or VB
programming is required.
JExcel supports Microsoft Excel 2003 and later versions and requires installation
of Microsoft Excel on a PC to function.

JExcel provides full access to MS Excel functionality. So you can easily create Excel applications,
manage workbooks and worksheets, work with cells and ranges in many different ways
(set and get values of different types, convert cells into ranges and vice versa,
merge and unmerge cells, customize cell appearance, etc.)
- Ability to listen to and handle Excel workbook or worksheet events.
With JExcel’s Workbook and Worksheet classes, you can add listeners to the events generated
by a workbook or worksheet as well as process them by handlers to affect respectively the
behavior of a workbook or worksheet.
- Ability to embed a workbook in a Java application.
Using the JWorkbook class, you can add an Excel workbook into a Java Swing application
just like an ordinary Swing component and if needed, display the embedded workbook
in a read-only mode, print it or perform other native operations.

Native peers are provided to allow you to work directly with COM interfaces of the Excel COM API
to implement functionality that is not yet available in the JExcel API.
