Visual Search
Visual Search is a set of software utilities, that allows to locate video and image files, using their content. It includes video search, image search and face search (face recognition). For example, you can specify some clip, that contains a part of a movie and find a full video, no matter where it is actually located, which filename, resolution or encoding have. It is also possible to provide some example picture, lets say a photograph of a lake and find other graphical documents, with similar visual appearance (color balance) - that would be a water or may be a sky. Another major features is ability to detect and recognize facial images: you can specify some photograph with a face, chose a folder with 10000 portrait images and find other pictures of a same person. This utilities are also good for grouping together a duplicates or modified versions of some original photograph (video). That can be a cropped versions or modified/distorted copies or screen copies (for movie). Used algorithms allows to extract only meaningful information, while skipping noise and even minor artificial changes. The interfaces are very simple and straightforward.
