SwTranslator for Vrml and X3D is designed to solve the problem of importing Collada 3DS, PLY, OBJ, and STL files formats into VRML and X3D, so that they can be used in interactive scenes.
Model 3D content programs support export to one of the formats supported by SwTranslator. This allows high quality content to incorporated into the VRML or X3D scene. The OBJ, PLY and STL are also common formats for 3D scanner output and other applications.
SwTranslator expands the migration path to make it easier to bring various 3D content into VRML and X3D scenes. Within these formats animation and interactivity can be added to make them become alive.
